Surah No. 1, Al Fatiha, Ayat No. 4 o إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ Translation :
We worship YOU - ALONE ; and seek help from YOU ALONE . Surah No. 7, Al Aaraaf, Ayat No. 197 o وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلا أَنفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُونَ Translation :
Those whom you call besides Allah cannot approach you to help, nor can they help themselves. Surah No. 25, Al Furqaan, Ayat No. 77 o قُلْ مَا يَعْبَأُ بِكُمْ رَبِّي لَوْلَا دُعَاؤُكُمْ فَقَدْ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًا Translation :
Say : " My Lord does not care for you if you do not make dua to Him; But you have now denied Him, so very soon the torment (punishment) is bound to be yours forever. Surah No. 40, Al Momin (Ghafir), Ayat No. 60 وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي o سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ Translation :
And your Lord said : make appeal to ME ; I will respond to your request. Infact, those who deny MY worship, will enter Hell with shame . Surah No. 42, Ash Shura, Ayat No. 26 وَيَسْتَجِيبُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ وَالْكَافِرُونَ o لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ Translation :
And He responds to ( the appeals) those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and to them He gives more from His Bounty, but for the non believers there will be a severe torment. Comments : One should keep in mind that if any kind of favour is needed then the appeal should be made to Allah Rabbul Izzat only. Allah is the greatest, who can listen, can see and has power over all the things. In repect of dua or supplications there are some Ahadis (Plural of Hadis), which are as under : The prophet (saws) said : 1. " All the supplications (Dua) are worship " (Tirmizi, Abu Daud) 2. " Supplication is heart of worship " (Tirmizi) 3. Narrated by Hazrat Salman Farsi (ra) that the Prophet said "The death of a person cannot be averted, but it is Dua which can avert it" (Tirmizi) 4. The prophet (saws) said " Whenever a person makes an appeal to Allah for any kind of need, either the same need is fulfilled or any other kind of misery is averted which was to come on him " (Tirmizi) 5. Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (ra) that the Prophet said " Allah does accept the request of His slave provided he should not become impatient "
(Means the slave should not say that he has made lot of requests but they are not being accepted and then he leaves making further dua).
6. Narrated by Hazrat Anas (ra) that the Prophet said " Everyone of you must ask for his needs from Allah only, even if he wants a replacement of his shoe lace" (Tirmizi) Ask Allah for Forgiveness, Allah alone can
Forgive the Sins of the People . Surah No. 3, Al Imraan, Ayat No.135 وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُواْ فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُواْ أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُواْ اللّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن o يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ اللّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّواْ عَلَى مَا فَعَلُواْ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ Translation :
And those, when they have committed an evil deed, or wronged themselves with evil, ask Allah for forgiveness for their sins,―and who can forgive sins except Allah?,―And they never persist knowingly on what wrong they have done. Surah No. 7, Al Aaraaf, Ayat No. 29 o قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ وَأَقِيمُواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ Translation : Say: My Lord enjoins right things. Set your faces straight (towards Him) at every place of worship and make dua to Him only. Surah No. 7, Al Aaraaf, Ayat No. 55 o ادْعُواْ رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً Translation : Make dua to Allah only in humbly, kindly and silently. Please remember that While making supplication (dua) Remember Allah by his all the Good names.
Surah No. 7, Al Aaraaf, Ayat No.180 وَلِلّهِ الأَسْمَاء الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُواْ الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَآئِهِ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا o كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ Translation : Allah has all the excellent names.
