77. Worshipping in Night

 

Surah No. 39, Az Zumar, Ayat No. 9



أَمَّنْ هُوَ قَانِتٌ آنَاء اللَّيْلِ سَاجِدًا وَقَائِمًا يَحْذَرُ الْآخِرَةَ وَيَرْجُو رَحْمَةَ رَبِّهِ قُلْ

o هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُوْلُوا الْأَلْبَابِ



Translation :



One who is obedient to Allah, prostrating himself or standing (in prayer) during the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (can he be accounted equal to a desbeliever)? Say: "Are those who know, can be equal to those who do not know? Only the men of understanding will remember the advices.

 
Surah No. 73, Al Muzzammil, Ayats No. 1 to 4
 

o نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا o قُمِاللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا o يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ

o أَوْ زِدْعَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلً

Translation :



O you wrapped in garments (Prophet Muhammad saws)! Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. Half of it, or a little less, Or a little more; And recite the Qur'an in a slow and rhythmic tones.



Surah No. 73, Al Muzzammil, Ayats No. 6
 

o إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْءًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلً

 
Translation :



Verily, the rising in the night (for Tahajjud prayer) is most potent and good for governing oneself, and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Prayer and Praise of Allah).



Surah No. 76, Ad Dahar (Al Insaan), Ayats No. 26
 

o وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُوَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا

 
Translation :



And during night, prostrate yourself to Him, and glorify Him in some part of a long night.
