Translation :

Why should you not eat of that over which the name of Allah has been mentioned, when He has explained to you clearly the things which are forbidden to you ; unless you are compelled there or in necessity. And there are many who led other men astray by their own desires, through lack of knowledge. Certainly your Lord is Best Aware of the transgressors.

Surah No. 5, Al Maaeda, Ayats No. 3 & 4

This day, those who disbelieved have given up hope of your religion; so do not fear them, but fear Me! This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you a religion AL-ISLAM. Whosoever is forced by hunger, with no will to sin: Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

They ask you (O Mohammad) what is lawful to them. Say: (all) pure and good things are allowed to you. The beasts and birds trained by you as hounds, in a manner as directed by Allah, when they catch and injure the animals and leave them for you ; so you eat them which they catch for you and mention Allah's name on it, and fear Allah. Verily ! Allah is swift to take account.

Translation :

Say: I do not find in the order revealed to me, anything prohibited to be eaten by anybody, except it be a dead animal , or running blood, or swine flesh (Pork)-as it is impure. In fact ! it is a sin - if an object, which was immolated to the name of other than Allah. But whosoever is compelled because of hunger and necessity and do not transgress and tries to eat again and again; then certainly your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.

Surah No. 5, Al Maaeda, part of Ayat No. 5

Translation :

This day good things are made lawful for you. The food of those who have received the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them.

Comments

In present circumstances, the Jews and Christians, though they are the possessors of the holy books but they have totally ignored the guidelines and started eating flesh of swine, started drinking alcohol and left the purity. Therefore food of such people should be avoided as there is a 100% possibility of contamination of Pork and Wine in their food articles.
